Now the link images are much larger
According to EdgeRank Checker big image links received 5.55% Link Clicks / Reach, while small image links received 3.29%. A +69% increase! Furthermore, there was an increase in the average engagement rate of the posts because of they are now being spotted easier by the users.
But there is a catch! Images in linked posts should have the updated dimensions (the updated Open Graph information) in order to appear bigger in Facebook. Not all linked posts show that big and thus, not all linked posts perform better than before the change.
As it seems, what brands should do to take advantage of this increase in their posts performance, is optimize their websites for the new image format. In other words, update all your website images and start posting links on Facebook!
